John Richard King

Indiana native and lifelong music enthusiast, born in Lebanon and raised in Zionsville. I started with saxophone in 6th grade, picked up guitar in high school, and earned degrees in music from Butler and DePaul Universities. After 17 years teaching band in Indiana, I transitioned to school counseling, earning a Master’s in Counseling. I specialize in fingerstyle guitar and ukulele, performing a variety of genres including folk, pop, Celtic, and ragtime. Influenced by the singer/songwriter movement of the 60s and 70s, I remain active in Northern Indiana’s music scene, promoting live performances and continuing to learn and share my passion for music.
