John Richard King is an Indiana native and lifelong music enthusiast, born in Lebanon and raised in Zionsville. He began his musical journey with saxophone in 6th grade before picking up guitar in high school. With music degrees from Butler and DePaul Universities, John spent 17 years teaching band in Indiana before transitioning to school counseling, where he earned a Master’s in Counseling.
Specializing in fingerstyle guitar and ukulele, John performs a wide range of genres including folk, pop, Celtic, and ragtime. Influenced by the singer/songwriter movement of the 60s and 70s, he remains an active part of Northern Indiana’s music scene, promoting live performances and continuing to share his passion for music with audiences of all ages.
